YOUR WORD IS A LAMP TO MY FEET
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
The verse uses two related images: נֵר (ner), a lamp, and אוֹר (or), light. It also moves from רַגְלִי, “my feet,” to נְתִיבָתִי, “my path.” The wording begins with illumination at one’s feet and expands toward the road ahead. That progression is present in the Hebrew before any symbolic interpretation is added.

The integer result verifies the Delta-9 relationship for the verse. The calculation establishes an arithmetic feature of the Hebrew; 179 is not assigned a theological meaning merely because it appears here.
Jewish interpretive traditions frequently associate Torah and divine instruction with illumination. Later mystical literature develops the symbolism of light much further. Those traditions may inform interpretation, but the textual evidence comes first: the psalm itself explicitly compares the divine word with a lamp and light.
A lamp does not reveal every mile at once. It gives enough light for the ground before the next step.
